Save a Life This Christmas

Ben and I don’t do Christmas presents. One of the perks of being a Buddhist. Yes, we will for our children and will have a Christmas tree and all of the other Christmas goodies when the time comes, but in the mean time, we’re soaking up the fact that there is no pressure to do any of the holiday stuff. If we did do presents, my husband would be getting me a Safe Birth Certificate.

Every two minutes a woman dies in childbirth around the world. It’s just unacceptable. I can’t imagine giving birth and having an emergency situation in a third world country. I just cannot.

Maternity Worldwide empowers women worldwide with information about pregnancy and deliver, trains midwives and provides life-saving medical equipment to places without the resources to buy it otherwise.

This Christmas, Maternity Worldwide is asking you to help save a life. For just 15 pounds, you can help sponsor a safe birth.

I can’t think of many better presents than that, making sure that every baby is born into the arms of a loving, healthy mother.
