Three

Today you should be three.

You’d be closer to kindergarten than birth.

You’d be talking clearly and up a storm.

We’d have library days and play dates and oh so much fun.

Instead you’re saving lives.

You’ll never move a day past five days away from the day you were born.

I promise you baby, I’ll work every day to make sure other babies live to their third birthday and beyond.

Today is for you mega cheeks.
